The Legendary HTML
HTML (HyperText Markup Language) is the programming language of the World Wide Web. Every webpage is created with HTML scripts that specify what’s on the page and how those items are displayed. In effect, a webpage made with HTML is like a mini-computer program and your web browser is the virtual computer that runs the program in order to display the page.
As time goes on, the commands and functions available to a web developer through HTML continue to increase. This is simply a reflection of improvements in computers, changes in how people access the Internet and the creation of new technologies.
HTML5 – It’s Just Around the Corner
HTML5 (the fifth version of HTML) updates the current versions of HTML with easier to use video, sound and application commands. HTML5 is slated for general use on the Internet sometime between 2014 and 2016, but web browsers are ramped up to apply some of the core specifications right now. So GFX is already using the new commands introduced by HTML5 in many of the websites that we’re creating today.
